Labor-Only Loading and Unloading at $95/hr
Sometimes the truck is already handled. You rented a Penske for the weekend. A U-Haul is in the driveway. A POD container is parked at the curb for the next forty-eight hours. A Budget cargo trailer is hitched to the pickup. What you actually need is hands and the loading know-how that keeps the load tight through 230 miles of I-4. Top Moving sends a labor-only crew at $95 per hour for two W-2 movers — no equipment minimum, no truck rental rolled in.
The crew is the same bilingual EN/ES W-2 team we put on full-service moves. Uniformed, on payroll, background-checked. Not gig-app contractors who showed up that morning and have not loaded a Penske before. Hector or whoever is chiefing that day has built loads from Kissimmee to Atlanta and back enough times to know what survives the drive.
Loading a truck well is a skill, not just lifting
How a truck is loaded decides whether your things arrive intact. Heavy and square pieces go on the bottom, weight balances front to back across the rear axle, and fragile items get padded and wedged so the load does not turn into a landslide the first time you brake hard for a Turnpike toll plaza. Furniture rides pad-wrapped against the wall of the load. Glassware rides cushioned and centered, not packed against a wheel well.
Rental trucks, trailers, and PODS
- Penske, U-Haul, Budget, Ryder, and Home Depot rental trucks all handled
- Personal flatbed and enclosed trailers
- POD-style portable containers parked at the curb
- Cargo trailers behind a pickup
Pricing is straight hourly with no surprises:
- Two-mover labor-only crew at $95/hr (two-hour minimum)
- Three-mover crew at $135/hr for fuller loads or tight windows
- Four-mover crew at $175/hr
- Loading-only, unloading-only, or both ends
Plenty of DIY moves split the labor: our crew loads on the Kissimmee end, you drive the haul to Charlotte or Atlanta, and a labor-only crew at the destination handles the unload. We can usually recommend a vetted labor crew at the other end through our long-haul network. About seventy percent of our labor-only jobs run that way.
You bring the truck or the container. We bring the crew that knows how to pack it. Call (888) 711-4778 to scope labor-only loading or unloading and put it on the calendar.
